This Association is the continuation of the GUIAPT, (The Association of Professional Tour Guides of the Argentine Republic that began in 1971).
In the year 1992, the federalist spirit of that moment inspired the members of other regions to found their local associations to adapt themselves to the changes of the growing development of tourism.
At that moment the Executive Commission, supported by their members decided to begin AGUITBA as the unique entity with a Legal capacity that gathers the Tour Guides of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This initiative was followed by a very important step for the consolidation of its equity when the deed of property of its own house was signed, the one corresponding to its present headquarters, in the heart of our city.
Since 2001 we have been members of the Argentine Federation of Tour Guides (FAGUIT) as well as of the World Federation of Tour Guides’ Associations (WFTGA)
